Games made for two monitors

A somewhat random thought I had recently. Dual monitor systems for home
use have become more common over the last few years. Are there any
games designed for dual monitor play? As in each monitor would be
displaying something different from the game like maybe one monitor
shows what the character sees and the other is a control display or
something. I'm sure we've all had at least one game where we wish more
room for the controls and information displays were available. Wouldn't
it be nice if you could split them between two screens?

I'm not aware of any that work that way. I had set up The Crew for 3 monitors as I
thought it might give me some more peripheral vision which would've been nice,
but no, it just stretched out the same view. 2 was annoying because of the space
between the monitors dead center, so I went back to 1 with the other to switch to for
looking stuff up while loading maps etc.

I'm back to just one monitor because I bought one too big to have another on the
desk, I missed the other one to begin with, but alt-tabbing and win+arrow keys work
well enough for most things.

I don't know of any game for the PC specifically designed for two
or more screens, as it's not something you can really assume people
have, but there's some games have good support for multiple monitors.
EVE Online for example lets you play on multiple monitors, letting you
drag information windows where ever you want. The biggest feature is
that it less lets you adjust the center of the rendered display, so if
you have two monitor set up you can move it to the center of one of the
monitors rather where the two monitors meet.

Yes, e.g. advanced flight sims

I'm aware of someone that makes a small accessory display for the game + app
(it might just be a program running on a small tablet, I'm not clear)

But to answer seriously, there is none that I am aware of, some
flightsims work with a multi monitor setup by using them more or less
like an ultra wide screen.

Supreme Commander (RTS) would let you have the game on one monitor and
the map on the second monitor.

Probably not of huge interest to this newsgroup, but Battlefield 4 let
you run "commander mode" on a second screen, or a tablet device.

It worked well.

For those not familiar, in some BF games, the team has a designated
commander that watches the big picture and sets the objectives for
individual squads. A team working in this way and sticking to
assigned objectives under a good commander would win out over a team
that was just running around shooting every time.
