Painkiller - Stuck in Snowy Bridge level!

I'm stuck in the Snowy Bridge level. Of course I massacred all Ninjas, and I
found the sectrets on the pipe near the stairs and behind the fence at the
end of the pipe. What I need now is the secret on the first ledge.

Yes, I know (that's where I have the picture from). Unfortunately the video
doesn't show how to get there...

The one behind the ledge?.. oh that is SUCH a pain in the ass.
Quicksave and do the run hop around the border of the ledge. You have
go pretty fast. Its kinda hanging out in space behind there as well..
so you have to jump and strafe back in mid-air kinda to get back to
the ledge. That spot can take a while to get through.. sigh. When I
replay PK I'm not looking forward to that section.

I was pretty sure the vid shows ya hoping around there.. I'll go
re-download it and see what's what. But the main deal is to hug that 2
foot ledge all the way around it.

jump towards ledge - jump towards corner - quicksave - try to
jump/turn/hope around corner - fall - quickload - fall - quickload - fall
- quickload - fall - made it! hurry and quicksave! - repeat.

I really hated that part.

No, not how to jump _around_ the ledge but how to get there! I'm still stuck
in the first section of snowy bridge. The ledge is behind a wall that I
can't pass through...

But I found the solution, seems it was a bug that didn't open the first door
in the tower. I replayed it after applying Patch 1.6 and now it is open..

Of course its 1.3, not 1.6. And I found out that this patch now brought up a
new error. I can't load any savegames any more, even the ones I made after
applying the patch. The Game always exits to desktop with an error message.
Oh well...

This worked for me:


"Go into your Game Video Options, change an option from High and cycle
through the options until you're on High again, then click Apply."
